We are an educational institute that is 100% focused on Massage Therapy education and we provide the following two nationally recognised courses:

Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice [HLT040307]
Diploma of Remedial Massage[HLT 050307].

We conduct both Full time as well as Part time classes so you can choose the ideal stream to suit your requirements.

FULL TIME CLASSES

Our Full time classes run 4 1/2 days a week and are therefore one of the most effective and time efficient programs in Australia to become industry qualified:

The weekly schedule is:

- Monday to Thursday between 9.30am and 4.00pm
- Friday morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm

The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice [HLT040307] full time course duration is 10 weeks.

The Diploma of Remedial Massage [HLT 050307] full time course duration is 10 weeks.

PART TIME CLASSES

Our part time streams are designed to allow people that have a traditional full time occupation to still progress trough both courses in a reasonable time frame of approximately 1 year to become a fully qualified Remedial Therapist.

We are able to achieve that by utilising one day of the weekend, as well as two evenings during the week. If we were to utilise only two evening sessions a week, a part time student would require almost two years to complete the full Remedial Therapist course. Our experience is that it would result in some people not finishing their course and be frustrated at having to wait such a long time before being able to start their new careers.

We have two Part time class streams to choose from where each stream has two evening sessions during the week and a full day on the weekend.

1) The MWS stream runs on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm plus Saturday from 9.30am to 4.00pm.
2) The TTS stream runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm plus Sunday from 9.30am to 4.00pm

The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice (HLT40307) is an entry level qualification to the massage industry, with the practical foundation of the course teaching how to give clients a full body relaxation massage massage using Swedish strokes. The course covers the following:

Massage Essentials

This sets the scene for your new career in the massage industry and creates a firm foundation on which to build upon, from personal development and communication skills, to creating the perfect clinic environment and legal lingo.

Structure & Function

As a world-class Massage Therapist, it is important that you understand how your client's body works, much the same as a mechanic understands a car. This module covers the bones, muscles and each of the organ systems of the body such as the heart, lungs, nerves, skin and digestive system.

Neuromuscular Techniques (NMT)

The term ‘neuromuscular techniques' is a collection of techniques used to deactivate trigger points, more commonly referred to as “knots” or “sore spots”. You will learn what trigger points are, how they differ from a tight band of muscle, where in the body they my refer to and more importantly, how to treat and deactivate.

Massage Practice

The full body massage sequence; 136 strokes to reduce stress, improve circulation and relax your client so much they keep coming back for more!

Sports Massage

The Sports Massage module looks at how massage techniques differ for the sports person; adapting to a change in environment, altered physical and emotional stresses based on activity and competition, and how to stretch all major muscles before and after an event. Common injuries, the prevention of injuries and the use of thermal therapies (heat and cold) and also covered.

Massage Business

The importance of investing for financial independence and increasing one's own worth; learn more to earn more! All the tools you need to establish your own business and generate an income before you've even finished the course!

Massage Clinic

The finale of your course is a public clinic; an opportunity to practice your massage techniques and implement the skills learnt throughout the business module to build a personal client base and start earning an income straight away!

What is a Diploma of Remedial Massage?

The Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT50307) is a high level qualification in the Massage Industry with the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice (HLT40307) as a prerequisite.

The course content offered in the Diploma could be likened to the assessment and treatment one would expect to receive from an osteopath or physiotherapist

All of our sessions are taught face to face by our experienced coaches. The finale of the course is a public clinic, which is an opportunity for students to practice their new skills on real clients and start to build up their own client base.

In the Diploma of Remedial Massage you learn how to take your client through a static and dynamic musculoskeletal assessment, then conduct and interpret special tests. Having reached a working diagnosis of your client's condition, a range of treatments is then given to reduce symptoms of pain and restore normal function.

It is a significant and exciting step up from the Certificate IV program in the level of understanding and application of functional anatomy. The Certificate IV forms the foundation of your ability to understand your client's body and its mechanics. The focus on the Diploma program is about identifying and treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions.

In addition to teaching the special tests for regional diagnosis, Remedial Massage Practice introduces the four main techniques; Myofascial Release, Positional Release Techniques, Muscle Energy Techniques and Joint Mobilisations. These allow the Remedial Therapist to increase joint mobility and reduce symptoms of pain and discomfort.

The Diploma opens many more doors of opportunity in the health industry, and successfully completing the course allows our students to gain full membership with associations like the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT). This allows the practitioner to a medical provider status, from which clients may then claim a rebate from their private health fund for the treatment received.

So what are "Advanced Learning Techniques?"

Remember back to school, college or university, when the teacher stood at the front of the room and just talked for hours on end and you nearly fell asleep? We don't do that!

Have you ever wondered why you find it difficult to recall the headline on yesterday's paper, yet if you hear a song that your haven't heard for years, the words come flooding back as soon as it starts?

People learn in different ways; some are visual learners who remember pictures and create linked images in their mind, some people are auditory learners who prefer to listen and read,and the kinaesthetic learners love to get physically involved and just give things a go.

Our coaches utilise all three learning styles throughout the course, to teach everything from remembering the names of your classmates, to the elements that comprise each living cell in the human body.

At the start of your course you learn about effective communication skills, how to build great relationships and to identify the different behaviours and characteristics that people exhibit.
